Act Five

Entry 1:

I do not think that Titania and Oberon are the ideal couple to bless the newlyweds. I think this because the couple has had their own problems in marriage and have shown to cheat on one another. For example, this is shown when Titania says "Then I must be thy lady. But I know/ When thou hast stolen away from Fairyland,/ And in the shape of Corin sat all day,/ Playing on pipes of corn and versing love/ To amorous Phillida. Why art thou here,/ Come from the farthest step of India?/ But that, forsooth, the bouncing Amazon,/ Your buskined mistress and your warrior love" (2.1.65-72). This demonstrates that Oberon has cheated on Titania with multiple woman. Also Oberon states that Titania had her own affairs In addition to this, the couple are both demanding and this causes them to clash with one another. Furthermore, Titania and Oberon would not be the ideal couple to bless the newlyweds because they don't have a perfect marriage and have been on the verge of splitting.

Entry 2:

My initial impression of the play was that it would be boring and difficult to understand. I assumed this because that's how Shakespeare's plays usually are. However when I first began reading the play it became interesting. The play became engrossing as I wanted to find out what happened after each scene. My final impression of the book was that is was overall interesting and had a great plot, however my initial intersest in the plot began to fade towards the end. This is because the end seemed rushed and appeared to have been given less thought the the beginning scenes. Therefore, I wish the ending was a little different however I don't know how it can be improved.
